Official prices for passenger cars and vehicles under 3.5 tonnes — with full transparency on our service fee. No hidden costs.
If you’re planning to drive in Hungary in 2026, this page gives you a straightforward overview of Hungary’s e-Matrica prices for passenger cars and vehicles under 3.5 tonnes. We’ve broken everything down by validity type (Daily, 10-Day, Monthly, and Annual) so you can quickly see which applies to your trip. For each option, you'll find the official price set by NÚSz (Nemzeti Útdíjfizetési Szolgáltató Zrt.), along with our service fee. There are no surprises here. What you see is exactly what you pay. Prices are shown in Hungarian Forint (HUF) by default, but you can switch to your preferred currency anytime to see the equivalent in euros, pounds, or other European currencies.
Before you buy, it’s important to pick the right vehicle category. This directly affects both the price and type of vignette you need. It’s especially easy to get wrong if you’re riding a motorcycle, driving a large motorhome, or towing a trailer or caravan.
Here’s how it breaks down:
Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes don’t use the e-Matrica system at all. They fall under the HU-GO distance-based electronic toll system instead.

Our service fee covers things like order processing, currency conversion, and instant digital delivery. Prices last checked on April 14, 2026 at nemzeti útdíj.hu.
Hungary's annual vignette system is a bit more flexible than many other countries—and that can actually save you money if you choose carefully. Instead of just one “annual pass”, there are four different coverage options, depending on how and where you drive.
If you mostly stick to one area, for example, you don’t necessarily need the full nationwide option.
| Sub-type | Coverage | Best for | Price (HUF) | Validity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| National (Nationwide) | All Hungarian motorways, expressways, and designated main roads | Frequent cross-country drivers, regular commuters | 61 760 Ft | Start date → 31 Jan following year |
| County-wide | All motorway sections within a single chosen county + M0 ring road | Drivers whose journeys stay within one county | 7 190 Ft | Same calendar year rules |
| BAZ County (Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén) | M30/M3 corridor, northeastern Hungary — Miskolc–Košice/Záhony | Drivers regularly using the Miskolc–Košice/Záhony corridor | 2 500 Ft | Same calendar year rules |
| M1 Regional | M1 motorway corridor — Budapest–Győr–Hegyeshalom (Austrian border) | Drivers commuting or regularly travelling the Vienna–Budapest corridor | 15 000 Ft | Same calendar year rules |
A small but important detail: The “Annual” e-Matrica is valid from your chosen start date to 31 January of the following year. So, if you buy it in January, you’re getting approximately 13 months of coverage. That’s the best value for money in the system.
For 2026, prices have been adjusted in line with inflation figures, as stipulated by Hungarian government regulations.
There’s also an important change to be aware of: From 1 January 2026, motorhomes with a maximum permissible weight of over 3.5 tonnes will move from the HU-GO distance-based e-toll system to the electronic vignette (e-vignette) system in Hungary.
If you’re travelling in a larger motorhome, it’s worth double-checking which system applies to you before you drive.
And if you’re considering an annual vignette, remember that the “Annual” e-Matrica runs from your chosen start date to 31 January of the following year. If you select January 1, that extended (13-month) validity can make it surprisingly cost-effective compared to shorter-term options.
